UPS visits Bahrain to hold talks over expanding its cargo operations
A DELEGATION from United Parcel Service (UPS) has visited Bahrain to discuss Transport and Telecomm Minister Kamal bin Ahmed's plans to develop cargo services and increase volumes throught Bahrain International Airport (BIA).
UPS representatives were also received by Bahrain Airport Company CEO Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah and representatives from the Bahrain Economic Board (EDB).
Mr bin Ahmed said that his ministry will provide all the necessary facilities and support to help enhance BIA and boost its contribution to the local economy in keeping with Bahrain's Economic Vision 2030, reported Bahrain News Agency.
The minister stressed the importance of cooperating with multinational logistics providers to help strengthen Bahrain's strategic position as a "leader in efficient and reliable logistic services"among the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
UPS has maintained a presence at the airport for 15 years.
