OOCL blanks 16 sailings on Asia- America run on Chinese New Year lull

HONG KONG's OOCL has withdrawn two more sailings on the Asia-North America trade in addition to the 14 other blanked sailings that the carrier announced earlier this month.

The latest blanked sailings will affect the East Coast China 2 (ECC2) service. They will be blanked on February 27 when the CMA CGM Attila (441E/442W) was scheduled to arrive at Qingdao heading eastbound; and the sailing on April 5 from New York that heads westbound.

The service will resume with the Ever Legion (026E/W) which is expected to arrive in Qingdao on March 6 and head eastbound. This vessel is then due to arrive in New York on April 12 and head westbound.

OOCL said in a notice to its customers that the sailings were blanked due to "expected low demand following the Lunar New Year holiday".
