Amazon wants 20 graves moved 4 miles to accommodate air cargo hub
MEGA online retailer Amazon.com, which recently added 210 acres to its future air cargo hub at Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky International Airport, wants to move 20 graves to Hebron Lutheran Cemetery in Kentucky four miles away.
Boone County Fiscal Court will consider the "removal and relocation of all abandoned graves in the William Aylor Family Cemetery Amazon property adjacent to the airport, reports the Cincinnati Enquirer.
"This project is necessary to facilitate the Amazon Prime Air project on airport property. It includes contiguous parcels such as this property," said Amazon.
Seattle-based Amazon is to invest US$1.49 billion, providing 3,000. The deal would top Delta's 1993 multi-million dollar hub expansion.
It's also the largest one-time business deal in Northern Kentucky history, said Dan Tobergte, president of the Northern Kentucky Economic Development Corp.
