Finland's Cargotec Kalmar acquires Inver Port Services in Melbourne
KALMAR, part of Finland's Cargotec, has acquired the port services business of Inver Engineering in Australia for an undisclosed amount.
The investment supports the company's plan to expand and strengthen its existing service capabilities in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.
Inver Port Services provides repairs, maintenance and crane refurbishment projects for terminal operators across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific.
Inver Engineering is a privately owned company established in Melbourne in 1981 that services the ports, rail, petrochemical, oil and gas and manufacturing industries. Inver Port Services generates EUR5 million (US$5.93 million) in annual sales and it employs 23 people.
Said Kalmar vice president Peter McLean: "We are excited to welcome the Inver Port Services team to Kalmar Australia. The region is an important market for Kalmar.
Said Inver Port Services director Stuart Smith: "Kalmar's investment into Inver Port Services enables us to better support our existing customers throughout the region and expand globally."
