Riga handles 410,000 TEU from January-November, an increase of 17pc
THE Port of Riga in Latvia handled 410,000 TEU in the first 11 months of 2017, representing an increase of 17 per cent year on year. In November 45,500 containers passed through the port's terminals.
From January to November the port's cargo throughput amounted to 31.1 million tons. November was a particularly strong month for the port last year with cargo volume of three million tons, reported St Peterburg's PortNews.
The best performing cargo segments were containerised cargo, coal, cereal products and wood pellets.
