MPC Container Ships buys two 1,000 TEUers for US$16.1 million
OSLO's MPC Container Ships has entered into agreements to purchase a 987-TEU and 1,049-TEU vessel built at South Korea's Daesun Shipbuilding in 2008 for a total of US$16.1 million.
The containership owner said it expects to take delivery of the vessels in January 2018. The two second hand ships will increase the company's fleet to 41 vessels, reported MarineLink.
Earlier this month, MPC entered into agreements to acquire three 2,742-TEU vessels built in 2006 at Aker MTW Werft in Germany for a total of $31.9 million.
