Greencarrier puts an environmental spin of its LCL service
GOTHENBERG's Greencarrier Freight Services is putting an environmentalist spin on its pitch in selling less than container load (LCL) shipping.
Shipping empty containers is hugely wasteful, but sharing space contributes to a more sustainable environment, said its press release.
Today's overcapacity in the market means containers are often transported empty, which is neither friendly to the environment nor cost-efficient, it said.
"LCL shipping allows for substantial savings on freight costs as the goods are shipped as containerised cargo at lower rates.
Sharing space means that you use the full capacity of the containers, and by combining various cargoes into a single shipment, you contribute to a greener environment.
"Almost any dry cargo that fits into a container can be shipped with our LCL service," it said.
"If you are a small or midsize business that don't have the volume to fill a full container, but cannot afford to miss delivery deadlines, then our LCL service might be an option for you," said Greencarrier.
