Swire Shipping's West Coast North America service to call at Portland
SWIRE Shipping has announced that its West Coast North America service is to start direct port calls at Portland, Oregon, beginning with the January sailing of the Shengking, voyage: 1707N/S.
"After numerous requests from the Portland business community for a direct Swire port call, we are responding in order to continue improving efficiency and service for our Pacific Northwest customers," the carrier said in a statement.
"The service will provide a direct link from key ports in Asia as well as offer export opportunities to Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and beyond."
Swire Shipping's West Coast North America service is a dedicated multi-purpose liner service with a 45-day frequency.
The service connects Australia, New Zealand, China, Korea and Fiji with key ports in the US and Canada. The service also offers connectivity to Swire Shipping's liner services for additional destinations in Southeast Asia, Pacific Islands and Papua New Guinea.
The two purpose-built vessels deployed on the service are capable of handling containers and break-bulk with a combined lift of 110 tonnes.
The Shengking (voyage: 1707N/S) will start calling at Portland on the following sailing schedule: Shanghai (December 12-13), Dalian (Dec 14-15), Busan (Dec 17-18), Vancouver, BC (January 1-4), Everett (Jan 4-6), Portland, Oregon (Jan 7-8), Long Beach (Jan 12-14), Suva (Jan 29-30), Brisbane (February 3-5), Port Kembla (Feb 7-9), Melbourne (Feb 11-13), and Tauranga (Feb 18-22).
