Emirates teams up with Dubai CommerCity to develop e-commerce solutions
EMIRATES SkyCargo has signed an agreement with Dubai CommerCity that paves the way for the partners to develop new solutions for the global e-commerce sector.
Dubai CommerCity is the first free zone dedicated to e-commerce in the Middle East and North Africa region located in Dubai.
"Every day Emirates SkyCargo transports a large volume of e-commerce shipments as part of our mail or general cargo offerings. We are progressing to the next step where we cooperate more closely with e-retailers with the ultimate aim of getting products to customers even more quickly and cost effectively," said Emirates' cargo vice president Nabil Sultan.
"Dubai CommerCity, with its focus on e-commerce, can be an ideal platform for us to develop and roll out new solutions as well as technology that can be used to improve the speed, efficiency and safety of e-commerce shipments," he was quoted as saying in a report by The National of Dubai.
Commenting on the partnership with Emirates SkyCargo, Dubai airport free zone authority (Dafza) director general Mohammed Al Zarooni said: "We are confident that it will be a major boost to our strategic goals of making Dubai CommerCity a unified platform for government, administrative and customs services and logistics to help meet the needs of the e-commerce sector."
