ANA is CEIV-Pharma certified at Narita airport, near Tokyo
ALL Nippon Airways (ANA) became the first Japanese airline to receive IATA's Centre of Excellence for Independent Validators for Pharmaceuticals (CEIV-Pharma) certification.
The airline's largest cargo operation located at Narita International Airport near Tokyo earned the accreditation, after clearing a check list comprised of 250 audit items, reported New York's Air Cargo World.
To earn the certification, ANA said it implemented a number of supply chain enhancements, including a new organisational structure, training programmes, quality management and the creation of a new handling manual.
Last autumn, ANA said it developed the product "PRIO IB Fixed Temp," a service for temperature-controlled product transportation, and "will continue to strengthen the quality of pharmaceutical handling to meet customer's needs."
The CEIV Pharma Certification aims to provide a high quality handling process, to protect product quality during transportation from environmental factors such as temperature excursions.
