Asia-Europe rate drops 5.4pc to US$689/TEU, off 11.5pc to USWC
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday dropped 5.4 per cent to US$689 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade fell 3.9 per cent to $595 per TEU, American Shipper reported.
Asia to the US west coast declined 11.5 per cent week over week to $1,249 per FEU while those to the east coast slipped 6.1 per cent to $1,801 per FEU.
