Gemadept buys feeder vessel for US$7.5m from Japan's Nissen Kaiun
VIETNAM's Gemadept Shipping has bought a containership, the 1,200-TEU, 2008-built Sinar Buton, for US$7.5 million, after striking a deal with Japan's Nissen Kaiun.
The feeder vessel has been renamed Green Pacific under the Vietnamese flag, and is expected to operate the company's Vietnam-Hong Kong-Taiwan services, reported TradeWinds of Oslo.
The vessel is now the biggest in Gemadept's fleet, which includes three smaller containerships.
Gemadept Shipping is the liner arm of shipping, ports and logistics group Gemadept Corporation.
