Asia-Europe rate drops 6.5pc to US$728/TEU, off 8.9pc to USWC
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday dropped 6.5 per cent to US$728 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade fell 6.2 per cent to $619 per TEU, American Shipper reported.
Asia to the US west coast declined 8.9 per cent week-over-week to $1,411 per FEU while those to the east coast slipped 8.2 per cent to $1,917 per FEU.
