Leipzig/Halle air cargo up 7.7pc to 828,163 tonnes in first 9 months
GERMANY's second-largest air freight hub, Leipzig/Halle Airport saw air freight volumes rise 7.7 per cent in the first nine months of the year to 828,163 tonnes, marking the 13th year in a row of cargo growth.
Operated by Mitteldeutsche Flughafen, the airport serves as a European hub for DHL Express and freighter operator AeroLogic, which is a joint venture between Deutsche Post and Lufthansa, reported London's Air Cargo News.
In 2016, Leipzig/Halle Airport handled a total of 1.05 million tonnes of air freight.
