Oman Air Cargo deploys cloud-based platform from SmartKargo
OMAN Air Cargo has deployed a cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution from SmartKargo.
"The full SmartKargo ERP solution was deployed in less than two months. Within the first 24 hours, the go-live system registered a tremendous response from users globally," said Oman Air vice president Mohammed Al Musafir.
This air cargo management platform can be used by airlines, ground handlers, sales agents and regulators, he said.
Oman Air said that it chose SmartKargo to "maximise the potential of its cargo business", advancing real-time capability to bring digital transformation to all aspects of the business in an effort to boost both its revenue and customer service, reported London's Air Cargo News.
The platform facilitates the move to paperless business processes, such as the submission of electronic air waybills (eAWBs), and offers the capability to digitally collect, store and send relevant documentation.
Immediate access to data, full shipment visibility and SmartKargo's robust reporting capability is expected to help the airline better manage capacity.
The SmartKargo Link capability within the system will also facilitate the airline's interline opportunities by streamlining processes and communications with partner airlines.
