Antigua-flagged 880-TEUer hits pier, held in Bremerhaven
THE 880-TEU Pollux reportedly suffered engine failure when entering Bremerhaven, dropped anchor, but couldn't avoid collision with the pier, reported Kiev's Maritime Bulletin.
Both the feeder ship and pier sustained damage and the 14,670-dwt vessel was detained for investigation and repairs and was still at Bremerhaven on November 1.
The Antigua-flagged ships was built in 2009, and is reportedly managed by Leonhardt & Blumberg Shipmanagement GmbH & Co of Hamburg.
