Asia Airfreight Terminal signs cargo contract with Cambodia Angkor Air

HONG KONG's Asia Airfreight Terminal (AAT) has signed a ground handling contract with new arrival Cambodia Angkor Air, AAT announced.

Serving one of the fastest growing economies in south east Asia, 8-year-old Cambodia Angkor Air is the Cambodian national flag carrier based in Phnom Penh.

In addition to its domestic network, the airline also flies to Vietnam, Laos and China and now flies twice a week to Hong Kong using A320 aircraft.

Cambodia Angkor Air flies between Hong Kong and Seem Reap, one of the most popular tourist destinations in south east Asia and the gateway to the famous UNESCO World Heritage Site, Angkor Watt.

Said Cambodia Angkor Air cargo chief Trinh Hong Mink: "We sincerely welcome the cooperation between Cambodia Angkor Air and AAT."

Said AAT general manager Kahn Boon Kim: "In recent years manufacturing has played an increasingly important role in the textiles and garments in Cambodia. The increase in direct air links will boost trade opportunities with China via Hong Kong."

Separately, JC (Cambodia) International Airlines has also commenced direct services from Hong Kong to Phnom Penh and Seem Reap, appointing AAT its ground handlers.

Founded in 2014, JC (Cambodia) International Airlines now operates domestic and regional services within Asia.
