Asia-Europe rate falls 3.9pc to US$686/TEU, off 9.5pc to USWC
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday fell 3.9 per cent to US$686 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade dropped 5.8 per cent to $652 per TEU. Asia to the US west coast tumbled 9.5 per cent week-over-week to $1,367 per FEU while those to the east coast down 1.3 per cent to $1,801 per FEU.
