DHL Express opens 60,000 square metres of warehousing at Budapest Airport
BUDAPEST Airport announced that DHL has opened automated sorting systems that represents the biggest air cargo development, covering 60,000 square metres, reported London area Post and Parcel.
"The new lease agreement between Budapest Airport and DHL is for another 15 years," said DHL Express Hungary managing director Zoltan Bandli.
"The 6,000-square metre warehouse capacity will give DHL space to accommodate the volume growth of our business, with the new state-of-the-art sorting technology, allowing us to process more than 6,000 pieces per hour - three times our current capacity," he said.
More than 600 employees will be based at the two new express complexes, which are located in the area next to Terminal 1.
