Atlas Air confirms DHL freighter lease to perform round the world delivery
AIRCRAFT lessor Atlas Air Worldwide has wet-leased a Boeing B747-400F to DHL Global Forwarding to perform a round-the-world delivery service, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The aircraft will be operated by Atlas Air under an aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance (ACMI) agreement on a service operating between the US, Europe and Asia.
It will fly from Brussels to Oslo to pick up seafood before heading to Seoul, Shanghai and Cincinnati before returning to Belgium.
"DHL Global Forwarding is a leading service provider, and we are delighted they have chosen Atlas Air," said Atlas CEO William Flynn.
Said DHL vice president Ingo-Alexander Rahn: "We are looking forward to a long and successful partnership."
This deal is not the first Atlas Air has struck with a freight forwarder, it also provides capacity to Panalpina for its freighter operations.
