Despite dockers dispute Port of Valencia keeps volumes positive - barely
SPAIN's Port of Valencia's box volume from June to July was up 0.34 per cent to 2,748,293 TEU with overall cargo throughput rising 1.76 per cent in the same period year on year.
Full containers have increased a 5.15 per cent, and to the transit traffic that has experienced an increase of 3.81 per cent, though results have been depressed by a dockers dispute.
Conversely, empty containers have moved back by 20.24 per cent during this period. This month has made possible the recovery of the total traffic of Valenciaport.
During the first seven months of the year, Valenciaport has handled 42,585,140 tonnes, an increase of 1.76 per cent (until June, traffic went down a 0.14 per cent).
Regarding foreign trade, the import - export of general cargo has grown by 5.44 per cent to a total of 13,523,820 tonnes.
