AADA levies US$500/TEU, plus $275/TEU for bunker October 15
MEMBER lines of Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) will be increasing rates US$500 per TEU and $1,000 per FEU on cargo from Hong Kong and mainland China from October 15, it was announced.
This increase will apply in full on top of existing ongoing market rates and will be subject to accessorial surcharges applicable at the time of shipment.

The AADA also announced they have agreed to a bunker surcharge of US$275 per TEU and $550 per FEU for dry and refrigerated containers from Asia to Australian effective October 15.
The AADA said new charges were devised in accordance with the established review procedures, and that the charge would apply to shipments from Japan, Korea, mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to ports in Australia.
The new charge, said the AADA, reflects the recent increase in the price of oil at Hong Kong and South Korea.
Customers requiring further information concerning the bunker surcharge are advised to contact the member lines.
AADA members applying this new bunker surcharge are ANL Singapore, APL, Cosco Shipping, Evergreen Line, Hamburg Sud, Hyundai Merchant Marine, Mediterranean Shipping Co, Orient Overseas Container Line, Pacific International Line, TS Line and Yang Ming.
