Asia-Europe rate falls 8.4pc to US$812/TEU, off 1.5pc to USWC
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday fell 8.4 per cent to US$812 per TEU, according to theShanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade dropped 4.2 per cent to $758 per TEU. Asia to the US west coast declined 1.5 per cent week-over-week to $1,473 per FEU while those to the east coast off 2.1 per cent to $2,231 per FEU.
