HNA seeks US$300 million in US libel suit from fugitive tycoon Guo
HNA GROUP, based in China's island province of Hainan, seeks US$300 million from tycoon Guo Wengui in a New York libel court for saying the company was corrupt and tied to high Chinese Communist Party officials.
HNA said Mr Guo's allegations are causing harm to the conglomerate's reputation and financial standing. Defending Guo, lawyer Miles Kwok declined comment, reported Bloomberg News.
One of several suits he faces in the US, Mr Guo lives in exile in the US, having fled China three years ago, with Chinese authorities seeking his arrest and extradition through Interpol.
