2M Alliance brings northern European service to Port Everglades
PORT Everglades, at Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has won calls from the 2M Alliance of Maersk and the Mediterranean Shipping Co (MSC) with theirTA1/NEUATL1 service.
This US-flagged Maersk service rotates through Antwerp, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Norfolk in Virginia, Port Everglades, Houston, Norfolk and back to Antwerp. The services will be exclusively aboard Maersk vessels.
"This Northern European service further diversifies the fleet and services that call at Port Everglades, and generates additional opportunities for international trade to and from South Florida," said Port Everglades development chief Jim Pyburn.
Port Everglades handles more than one million TEU annually and serves as a gateway to Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia, say port authorities.
