Slew of Asia-Med, Latin America rate increases from CMA CGM
FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has issued new Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates for cargo loaded in Asia for North African, Mediterranean and Black Sea ports from September 1.
To the west Mediterranean, new rates will be US$1,550 per TEU, $2,000 per FEU, $2,050 per FEU high cubed and $2,050 per FEU reefer.
To the Adriatic, new rates will be $1,550 per TEU, $2,000 per FEU, $2,050 per FEU high cubed and $2,050 per FEU reefer.
To the Black Sea, new rates will be $1,600 per TEU, $2,300 per FEU, $2,300 per FEU high cubed and $2,300 per FEU reefer.
To the East Med, new rates will be $1,600 per TEU, $2,300 per FEU, $2,300 per FEU high cubed and $2,300 per FEU reefer.
To Syria, new rates will be $1,600 per TEU, $2,300 per FEU, $2,300 per FEU high cubed and $2,300 per FEU reefer.
These new FAK rates will apply from all Asian main ports to all North African main ports. All outports in Asia and North Africa will be subject to additional surcharges, the company said.
To Algeria, new rates will be US$1,900 per TEU, $3,600 per FEU and $3,175 per FEU high cubed.
To Tunisia, new rates will be $1,650 per TEU, $3,100 per FEU and $3,675 per FEU high cubed.
To Libya, new rates will be $1,600 per TEU, $3,000 per FEU and $2,975 per FEU high cubed.

CMA CGM also announced the following rate increase of $750 per TEU from September 15, that will apply to cargo from Asia to Mexico, the West coast of South America (WCSA) and the west coast of Central America (WCCA).
These rates include the basic freight and will be subject to the bunker related surcharges, the THC (origin and/or destination), the peak season charges and similar charges and the Security related surcharges which are accessible at http://www.cma-cgm.com/ebusiness/tariffs/charge-finder. Other charges such as Contingency charges and local charges may also apply.
