SITC orders feeder boxship quartet for US$34 million apiece
REGIONAL Chinese feeder line SITC plans to order four 1,000-TEU ships for US$34 million apiece from an unnamed Korean yard, reports Seatrade Maritime News.
The Shanghai company expects the first two be followed by options on a second pair, all gearless with the last two deliveries in 2018 and 2019.
The first two are to be delivered in November and December of next year.
"The exercise of the options and the entering into of the new shipbuilding contracts is to expand the self-owned fleet of container vessels of the group to meet the group's operational requirements," said the company statement.
