TNT Express struggles to recover data from June's cyberattack
TNT Express, a FedEx subsidiary, is yet to restore or recover its processes or information following the cyberattack on the company in June, with packages going missing or delayed for up to six weeks.
The Netherlands-based parcel company is still using manual processes to ship packages and may never recover all its lost information, according to a report from the BBC.
TNT states on its website that "remediation efforts are being carried out methodically to ensure the integrity of TNT's information systems and operations." However, "some customers may continue to experience delays in service and access to package information".
According to the BBC, affected customers include small business that shipped goods and supplies through TNT. Many of them have lost money because of missing or waylaid shipments.
A source close to FedEx and TNT operations in Europe has told the BBC that depots have been pushed to their limit while both companies continue to try to get the backlog of packages under control.
