American Airline's stellar July boosts London Heathrow cargo 15pc
LONDON Heathrow's July air freight increased a record 15.1 per cent year on year, driven by a 44 per cent spike in American Airlines' cargo volumes.
Overall cargo traffic with North America rose 16 per cent in July, while Asian traffic increased 14 per cent on the back of strong growth to China, Hong Kong and Singapore, reported London's Air Cargo News.
Heathrow chief executive John Holland-Kaye was quoted as saying: "July was the best month in Heathrow's history. With more passengers than ever and trade growing at the fastest rate ever recorded, Heathrow is helping Britain show the world our country is open for business."
