Pharma shipments to be treated as critical under IAG Cargo's new service offering
IAG Cargo has expanded its highest priority service to pharmaceutical shipments by allowing Constant Climate shipments to fly under its "Critical" product.
Shippers can send urgent pharmaceuticals and have access to the non-off loadable status and performance guarantees offered under the "Critical" product, which has since its launch a year ago carried goods ranging from electronic devices to machine parts.
Trials for Constant Climate Critical will be conducted in India, the United Kingdom and Europe. If the trials prove successful, Constant Climate Critical will be offered in all 109-enabled stations in the company's network, reported American Shipper.
"The development of Constant Climate Critical means that we are now able to build on our offering by providing vital vaccines and emergency lifesaving medicines with a non-off loadable status," said global head of pharmaceuticals and life sciences, Alan Dorling.
"In addition to our highest priority grading, the product continues to safeguard temperature-specific shipment requirements, maintaining the purity, potency and stability of the lifesaving medicines that we carry."
