Frankfurt first half cargo volume up 4.8pc to 1.1 million tonnes
GERMANY's Frankfurt Airport first half cargo volume increased 4.8pc to 1.1 million tonnes with June posting a 4.7 per cent increase to 188,256 tonnes.
Aircraft movements increased 0.9 per cent to 41,533 takeoffs and landings. Accumulated maximum takeoff weights grew 0.6 per cent to 2.6 million tonnes in June.
First half aircraft movements increased 0.2 per cent to 227,558 takeoffs, but landing takeoff weights fell one per cent to 14.4 million tonnes.
Frankfurt Airport processed 30 million passengers, up 1.3 million, or 4.5 per cent, year on year, setting a record for Frankfurt Airport.
Fraport's portfolio of airports showed positive first half results. Ljubljana Airport (LJU) in the capital city of Slovenia welcomed 722,943 passengers in the first six months of 2017, a 20.8 per cent jump year on year.
Peru's Lima Airport (LIM) posted an 8.4 per cent passenger increase to 9.7 million.
Bulgarian Black Sea airports at Varna (VAR) and Burgas (BOJ) had 1.3 million passengers, a gain of 9.4 per cent increase.
The 14 Greek airports achieved combined traffic growth of 11.9 per cent or a total of 9.6 million passengers in the first half of 2017.
On the Turkish Riviera, Antalya Airport (AYT) served nearly 9.5 million people in the first half of 2017, a 29.4 per cent gain year on year.
Hanover Airport (HAJ) registered 2.6 million passengers in the first half, 4.9 per cent.
Pulkovo Airport (LED) in St Petersburg posted a 25.4 per cent increase to 7.1 million passengers China's Xian Airport (XIY) passenger volume was up 14.4 percent to 20.1 million.
