South Africa's CHC taken over by Vanguard Logistics Services
VANGUARD Logistics Services has acquired CHC Supply Chain Management (CHC), a leading groupage CFS operations and supply chain management organisation in South Africa.
Adding to Vanguard's 2016 acquisition of International Liner Agencies (ILA), CHC further enhances Vanguard's presence as a premier NVOCC in the region.
"The addition of CHC delivers the greatest depth of expertise, services and cargo management for our customers shipping into and out of South Africa - ensuring global control and performance from the world's largest end-to-end owned NVOCC network," Vanguard Global CFO, Thurso Barendse, commented.
CHC has three decades of experience in supply chain management in South Africa, with customs licensed container depots and warehouses in Durban, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.
With 20,000 square metres under management, CHC delivers ownership of the full range of solutions including groupage operations, FCL management, customs stops and detentions, warehousing and transport to the Vanguard Network.
"Customers will continue to benefit from supply chain management control and excellence of CHC and we look forward to building on the services and products available to Vanguard's customers," added Vanguard SA managing director, Rod Taylor.
Integrating CHC with Vanguard extends the control, service excellence and peace of mind that customers have come to expect from the premier NVOCC network into and out of South Africa. With the benefits of service, compliance, products, expertise and financial strength that the largest owned network brings, it achieves seamless LCL and NVO shipping globally, Vanguard said in a statement.
"We will continue to expand our network, solutions and product integration to serve our customers logistics needs and bring superior LCL shipping globally," concluded Mr Barendse.
