Aeroflot Group sees cargo and mail volumes rise 44.6pc in May
THE Aeroflot Group and Aeroflot - Russian Airlines have released their operating results for May and the first five months of 2017.
In May, the Aeroflot Group carried a total of 21,468.9 tonnes of cargo and mail, a year-on-year increase of 44.6 per cent. On international routes the group carried 12,144.6 tonnes of cargo and mail, up 82.7 per cent, while the result for domestic routes stood at 9,324.3 tonnes, up 13.8 per cent.
Last month, revenue cargo tonne kilometres (RCTK) totalled 98 million, an increase of 50.1 per cent. On international routes the figure stood at 60.5 million, up 96.4 per cent, while domestic routes amounted to 37.5 million, up 8.7 per cent.
In the first five months of the year, the Aeroflot Group carried a total of 100,607.1 tonnes of cargo and mail, representing an increase of 44.9 per cent compared to the same period in 2016. International routes flew 57,186.6 tonnes of cargo and mail, up 74.6 per cent, while domestic routes transported 43,420.5 tonnes, up 18.3 per cent year on year.
Between January and May, total RCTK rose 51.2 per cent year on year to reach 455.7 million. International routes accounted for 283.9 million RCTKs, up 85.6 per cent, and domestic routes 148.3 million, up 15.8 per cent.
Aeroflot - Russian Airlines in May carried a total of 18,432.2 tonnes of cargo and mail, a year-on-year increase of 41 per cent. International routes flew 11,920.5 tonnes of cargo and mail, up 83.4 per cent, while the result for domestic routes was 6,511.7 tonnes, a decrease of one per cent.
In May, the airline's total RCTK was up 42.1 per cent at 86.4 million. The result for international routes was 59.4 million, up 94.8 per cent; while domestic routes stood at 27 million, reflecting a decrease of 10.9 per cent.
In the first five months of the year, Aeroflot - Russian Airlines carried a total of 86,249.2 tonnes of cargo and mail, up 40.6 per cent. The result for international routes was 56,195.1 tonnes, up 76.4 per cent, and domestic routes - 30,054.1 tonnes, representing growth of two per cent.
From January to May, airline's total RCTK rose 40.6 per cent to amount to 401 million. The figures for international routes are 279.5 million, up 84.9 per cent, and for domestic 121.5 million, down 9.3 per cent.
