Miami Air sues National Airlines for breach of contract
MIAMI Air International Inchas filed a legal complaint against National Air Cargo Group Inc, operating as National Airlines, for alleged breach of contract. Miami Air alleges it was damaged when National Air Cargo refused to make scheduled payments.
According to the complaint filed on May 23 in the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida - Broward County, the plaintiff alleges that on March 18, 2016, it entered into a contract with the defendant to supply aircraft to transport the defendant's passengers and cargo.
Although, the defendant paid a deposit of US$250,000 to the plaintiff, the suit states it cancelled the contract a day before commencement and refused to pay scheduled payments pursuant to the contract, according to Florida Record, an organ of the Washington, DC-based US Chamber Institute for Legal Reform.
The plaintiff seeks judgement against the defendant for general and special damages for lost profits of $15,000 plus interest, costs, attorney's fees and other relief as the court deems just.
