APL Logistics strikes deal with e-retailer WEMESHOPS
START-UP e-retailer WEMESHOPS has selected APL Logistics as its 'Strategic Supply Chain Partner" to support its efforts to tap China's booming e-commerce sector, it was announced at the grand launch event before 120 guests.
Scheduled for an official go-live date of July 1, this project will be APL Logistics first win for an e-commerce fulfilment case in North Asia.
WEMESHOPS' operation model involves both China cross-border e-commerce for overseas brands and domestic e-commerce for WEMESHOPS' OEM brand fulfilment.
Three APL Logistics China facilities located in Hong Kong, Foshan and Shanghai have been deployed to provide remote deposit capture (RDC), bonded/non-bonded warehousing and order fulfilment services.
"This showcase will enable APL Logistics to expand our retail offerings and e-commerce related service capabilities," the company said in a statement.
WEMESHOPS is a licensed e-retailing platform that focuses on selling many different types of commodities, such as skincare and beauty products, food and beverage (F&B), health supplements and kitchenware among other product lines.
"Their business and selling model utilises word-of-mouth marketing through mobile-based internet and social media channels. Apart from China, WEMESHOPS has future growth plans to break into additional consumer markets, where they can leverage APL Logistics' global network and local expertise for continued supply chain success," APL Logistics said.
