CMA CGM ups Asia-ECSA rate $500, levies Asia-Europe FAKs July 1

FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM will levy a rate increase from July 1 on cargo from Asia to the east coast of South America as well as impose new sets of Asia-Europe freight all kinds charges at the same time.

Rates will increase to US$500 for all containers, TEUs, FEUs and FEUs high cube, the company announced in a notice to trade.



Separately CMA CGM also announced Freight All Kinds (FAK) rates from July 1 until further notice, but not beyond July 14.



Between those dates rates will rise to US$1,250 per TEU, $2,300 per FEU, $2,350 per 40-foot high cube and $2,050 per reefer.



These new FAK rates will apply from all Asian ports including Japan, Southeast Asia and Bangladesh to all northern European ports including UK and the full range from Portugal to Finland and Estonia. 



These rates include the basic freight. They are subject to the bunker related surcharges, the THC (origin and destination), the peak season charges and similar charges and the security related surcharges, which are accessible at http://www.cma-cgm.com/ebusiness/tariffs/charge-finder. Other charges such as Contingency charges and local charges may also apply.
