Global Consolidators sets itself up as blockade runner via Oman

SINGAPORE's Global Consolidators Pte Ltd has started direct weekly LCL consolidation service on a weekly basis from the Lion City to Doha, Qatar directly with the first sailing on Sunday, June 25.

"Previously, LCL cargo for Doha was routed via Dubai but recently due to the restrictions with the Qatar blockade, cargo no longer allowed to transship via UAE.

"As a solution to the trade, Global Consolidators have started direct console box which will be transshipped via Oman," said the press release. "Many shipments have been stranded at and a direct service is a solution for the trade."

Qatar, a tiny rich sovereign state, the home of Al Jazeera television station, has annoyed its neighbours over a number of issues to such an extent as to be refused any commerce with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain, Egypt, but not Oman.
