SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe in the week ending Friday declined 5.9 per cent to US$880 per TEU from $933 per TEU, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade slipped three per cent to $877 per TEU, American Shipper reported.
Asia to the US west coast dropped 10.3 per cent week-over-week to $1,146 per FEU while those to the east coast off 6.8 per cent to $2,081 per FEU.
