IATA CEIV certified ABC joins Pharma Gateway Amsterdam
RUSSIA's AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) has become the second carrier to join the 14-member Pharma Gateway Amsterdam (PGA) initiative, which aims to improve transparency and quality in the pharmaceuticals air cargo supply chain.
ABC is certified under the IATA Centre of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) scheme, a requirement for all PGA members. It operates 22 flights per week from Amsterdam to destinations that are significant for pharma business, including Moscow, Chicago, Shanghai and Singapore.
Said ABC Netherlands country manager Henk-Jan van Keulen: "We see high potential for Schiphol to become one of our main airports for pharma. Within PGA the Schiphol Cargo Community is mutually developing the required logistic chain to provide the best possible product."
Knowledge sharing sessions are a key part of PGA membership, along with support from Schiphol Cargo in obtaining CEIV Pharma certification, London's Air Cargo News reported.
Said Schiphol cargo chief Jonas van Stekelenburg: "Since launching the initiative just over 12 months ago, the tangible results across the entire pharma supply chain at Schiphol have been very satisfying to see."
