MOL to levy US$300/TEU Asia-southern Africa rate hike July 1
JAPANESE shipping giant MOL has announced it will levy a general rate increase (GRI) on all cargo moving from Asia to southern Africa.
Starting July 1 2017, the GRI will be US$300 per TEU and $600 per FEU on cargo from Asia including Indian subcontinent and Middle East to southern Africa, including South Africa, Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
No reasons were given for the GRI in the company announcement.
