GAC Dubai Contract Logistics meet ISO 22000:2005 food grade standards

GAC Dubai Contract Logistics operations has earned the ISO 22000:2005 accreditation for complying with international food hygiene and safety standards, following a DNV audit.

It builds on the ISO 9001:2015 quality management system implemented across GAC Dubai since 1996, and incorporates the principles of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), covering the storage and distribution of perishable food, a company statement said.

GAC Dubai Contract Logistics' high hygiene and food safety standards, including batch and date control, are also applied to operations for the pharmaceutical industry, where there is currently no specific ISO accreditation relating to logistics operations.

The team has handled food and beverage storage, distribution and customisation operations for a number of businesses, including major importers, blue chip manufacturers and SMEs, for many years.

"GAC Dubai's ability to underwrite its quality systems in support of customers' supply chains is testament to its commitment to providing consistently high quality and safe services to its customers," said distribution centre manager Richard Potts.

The company operates 40,000 pallet pallet position for food and beverage operations in Jebel Ali Free Zone and Dubai Industrial Park, and another 90,000 position dedicated to pharma, retail and FMCG client base.
