Evergreen Marine back in black as quarterly revenues soar 18.3pc
TAIWAN's Evergreen Marine reversed itself out of last year's loss of TWD4.59 billion, by posting a first quarter net profit of TWD168.9 million (US$5.6 million), drawn on quarterly revenues of TWD33.8 billion, up 18.3 per cent year on year.
During the first quarter of 2016, Evergreen Line was a member of the CKYHE Alliance, which also included Cosco, "K" Line, Yang Ming and the defunct Hanjin Shipping.
Since then, Evergreen joined the OCEAN Alliance, which includes CMA CGM, its unit, APL, as well as Cosco and Hong Kong's OOCL, notes American Shipper.
According to ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting's Carrier Ranking tool, Evergreen Line has the sixth largest operating fleet with a total capacity of 1.02 million TEU.
