Frankfurt airport sets new tighter carbon reduction targets
FRANKFURT airport operator Fraport has reached its climate protection targets four years ahead of schedule, and subsequently set itself new targets under a 2030 plan modelled on the German government's Climate Action Plan.
By then, airport authorities aim to have cut CO2 emissions produced through operational activities to 80,000 tonnes, representing a reduction of 65 per cent over 1990 levels. Emissions will be slashed to 0.9kg of CO2 per 100kg of air freight or airmail, reported London's Air Cargo News.
