K+N bags deal to manage distribution for Toys'R'Us in north China
KUEHNE + NAGEL has clinched a four-year contract to manage Toys"R"Us' warehousing and distribution facilities in Beijing in order to restock the toy retailer's 130 stores across China.
Toys"R"Us' newly opened warehouse consolidates products from both local and overseas suppliers distributing to 45 stores in north China. Each year, half a million products are handled by the company's north China distribution centre.
Other services offered from the Beijing distribution hub include inventory control, fulfilment, and management of returns. All activities from the company's previous distribution centre in Tianjin have been transferred to this new warehouse.
Kuehne + Nagel has worked with Toys"R"Us since 2015, previously managing product distribution activities in east, west and south China. "We look forward to this partnership continuing to support our growth ambitions in mainland China in the coming years," China managing director Toys"R"Us, Roy Sammartino, added.
