Dockworkers on USWC given option to renew contract for 3 years
RANK and file members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) have been given the option to vote on an offer proposed by the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) to extend their existing contract for three years after it expires on July 1, 2019.
Management is also offering the unionised workers a 3.1 per cent yearly wage increase over the base wage rate of US$42.18 per hour, reported American Shipper.
