Asia-Europe rate jumps 16pc to US$1,021/TEU, up 21pc to USWC
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe jumped 16 per cent to US$1,021 per TEU in the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Asia-Mediterranean trade rose 20 per cent to $1,011 per TEU, The Loadstar reported.
Asia to the US west coast increased 21 per cent week-over-week to $1,606 per FEU while those to the east coast up 14 per cent to $2,625 per FEU.
