JACKSONVILLE's JAXPORT is now offering expanded service to Asia through Hamburg Sud's new Asia-North America east coast rotation, reports the American Journal of Transportation.

The port's Blount Island Marine Terminal serves as the last port of call for the new service which is offered through the 2M Alliance, if Maersk and MSC.

Vessels in the rotation offer direct service from Jacksonville to Busan, Qingdao, Xingang, Shanghai and Ningbo. SSA Marine provides stevedoring services at Blount Island.

The Asian container trade continues to be the fastest growing segment of JAXPORT's container cargo business, achieving 19 per cent growth in 2016.

Jacksonville offers worldwide cargo service from more than 40 ocean carriers, including direct service to Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, the Caribbean and other key markets.
