Zim nominates Glickman as new CEO to replace outgoing Rafi Danieli
ISRAELI ocean carrier Zim Integrated Shipping Services has nominated Eli Glickman as its next president and CEO following the departure of long-time chief executive Rafi Danieli, the company announced.
Mr Danieli has led the Israeli for eight years. Before being appointed CEO, he served as chief financial officer and deputy CEO. He is also credited with leading Zim's recent operational reorganisation.
"It has been a privilege to lead Zim during the most difficult times the industry has ever faced," Mr Danieli said in a statement.
"Through the combined efforts of management and our devoted employees, during these difficult times we improved our network, operating margins, efficiency and customer service. For the last eight financial quarters, our operating margins have put us in the top tier of liner companies."
Mr Glickman's nomination as the next president and chief executive officer will take effect July 1, the company said in a statement.
Mr Glickman, 55, most recently served as CEO of the Israel Electric Co, and before that was deputy CEO of Partner朞range Cellular Communication. From 2003 to 2005, he was CEO of Exel MPL, a logistics company.
In addition, Zim's current CFO, Guy Eldar, will resign from the company "for personal reasons" after four and half years. His replacement has yet to be nominated, the carrier said.
