DHL aims to achieve CEIV status at 7 stations across the Americas
DHL Global Forwarding plans to win the CEIV (Centre of Excellence for Independent Validators) pharmaceutical handling standard set my the International Air Transport Association (IATA) for seven of its 11 DHL stations in Atlanta, Chicago, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia and San Juan, Puerto Rico by the end of the second quarter.
Said DHL Global Forwarding US chief David Goldberg: "Through a targeted approach, we have selected stations in some of our key US hubs to undergo the rigorous audit certification process in order to further solidify our leadership position in these markets."
DHL started in the third quarter of 2016 to certify its global stations in accordance with the IATA CEIV pharma standard, which confirms service and quality standards for life sciences and healthcare customers, reported London's Air Cargo News.
The company adds that its LifeTrack cloud-based IT platform offers more transparency compared with other offers for temperature-controlled transport, ensuring not only shipment tracking but also allowing round-the-clock intervention.
