MOL to levy US$1,000/TEU Asia-Mexico and WCSA rate hike April 1
JAPANESE shipping giant MOL has announced it will levy a general rate increase (GRI) on all cargo moving from Asia to Mexico and the West Coast South America.
Starting April 1, the GRI will be US$1,000 per TEU and per 40' RAD, $1,500 per FEU and per 40' high cube dry reefer from Asia to Mexico ports on the West Coast South America.
In addition, MOL announced it will levy a general rate increase (GRI) on all cargo moving from Asia to the East Coast South America.
Starting April 1, the GRI will be US$1,000 for each TEU, FEU, and 40' high cube RAD (NOR) from Asia, including Indian subcontinent, to ports on the East Coast South America.
No reasons were given for the GRI in the company announcement.
